INSULATED CONCRETE FORMS MARKET
GETS BOOST WITH WORLD-CLASS STO FINISHES

The strength of ICFs combined with the great look and variety of
Sto finishes is a winning combination

ATLANTA – (May 31, 2005) Sto Corp., the innovative world leader in cladding, coating and restoration systems, has recently made new inroads into the Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) market segment by creating a program featuring multiple finish system options available for ICF walls.

Sto is now able to offer architects specifiers, and contractors more colors and shapes for almost any building type currently being constructed with ICF’s. Sto offers three (3) basic options to finish these structures with long-lasting protection. Each option comes with almost unlimited color and texture choices.
  • Option 1 is a multiple layer coating system that is recommended when the walls are straight and flat with little leveling needed. This option uses Sto base coat, reinforcing mesh, an optional Sto Primer, and a choice of Sto finishes.

  • Option 2 utilizes Sto’s Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) and is recommended when the walls have a greater need for leveling. This option adds additional Sto insulation to the exterior and includes the use of reinforcing mesh, an optional Sto Primer, and one of the many EIFS finishes offered by Sto.

  • Option 3 is the choice when the job calls for finishing the walls with a harder finish, like Sto Powerwall® Stucco. It incorporates a metal lath, Sto Powerwall® Stucco, Sto Primer, and a Sto Powerwall® finish, a ready mixed, flexible textured wall coating used as a decorative and protective wall coating.

There are many available Sto textures for ICF systems currently on the market including Fine, Medium, Swirl, Freeform Custom, Limestone, Granitex, Decocoat, and mottled.

Sto’s unique internal design consultative group, Sto Studio, is available to help by providing architectural renderings of possible color options to assist you, as the contractor or as the owner, in achieving the desired look.

“The great look of Sto and the ICF concept is a natural partnership,” said Sto Product Manager Mike O’Neil. “Sto can get you the look you want in a variety of finish systems, colors, and textures.”
