This white paper describes how Sto products may contribute to earning LEED points.
The Hygrothermal Performance of Exterior Wall Systems: Key Points of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory NET Facilities Research Project (Sept, 2006)
This report describes initial results of research conducted by ORNL which demonstrates superior moisture and temperature control of EIFS when compared with other claddings, including brick, stucco, concrete block and cement board.
EIFS and Sustainable Design (August 2007) This article originally appeared in the August 2007 issue of The Construction Specifier (Vol. 60, No. 8), the official publication of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). Visit www.csinet.org.
Sto Technical Report 01-07.1 "StoGuard®: Development of Durability Requirements for Canada and Compliance" (January, 2007)
This report describes testing of StoGuard™ for CCMC compliance as a waterproofing and air barrier material as well as its drainage performance under EIFS. The testing proved how durable StoGuard™ is even after extreme abuse, outperforming other waterproofing / air barrier materials. The testing also showed how well EIFS with vertical ribbons of adhesive drain, again outperforming all other claddings tested.
Sto Technical Report 01-07.2 "StoGuard™: Demonstration of Hygrothermal Performance through Computer Modeling at Oak Ridge National Laboratory" (July, 2007)
This report describes research conducted by ORNL which highlights the effectiveness of StoGuard™ as a moisture protection component in wall assemblies. Hygrothermal modelling is used to characterize the performance of 4 wall assemblies in 11 cities over a 2 year period.
Sto Technical Report 01-07.3 "StoGuard®: Testing for International Building Code Compliance and Comparison to Sheet Water-Resistive Barrier Products" (December, 2007)
This report describes testing of StoGuard™ for ICC-ES compliance as a waterproofing and air barrier material as well as its performance compared to sheet products. StoGuard™ demonstrated excellent performance as a waterproofing / air barrier material and has several advantages over sheet products.
