I. How Do I Enter this Awesome Contest?
- First, make your video (must be between :30 seconds and 5 minutes) that demonstrates your creative Sto bucket drumming skills.
- Register on www.youtube.com (and agree to YouTube’s Terms of Use) with the group “Sto Bucket Drumming Contest” and upload your video by clicking on the yellow “Upload” button.
- Video files must be named in the following fashion: “StoCorp_bucketdrumming_your name_your category”
- You will need to specify into which category you will be submitting the video.
- If you wish to enter your video in more than one category, just enter the video a second time with the new category listed in the title of the clip.
Note: Limit one (1) Video Submission per category in this contest
per registered user - Maximum entry file size: 80MB
- Video formats: YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats
- Language: English
II. Categories for Entry:
- Solo (any individual Sto bucket drummer)
- Ensemble (multiple performers & instruments, Sto bucket must be
the featured instrument) - Drumline (multiple Sto bucket drummers)
- Children (six and under Sto bucket drummer)
III. Judging Criteria
(Entries will be judged by the following criteria)
- Creativity
- Showmanship and Musicality
- Technical Merit and Skill
Finalists will be selected by judges and voting for the winner in each category will be open to all visitors to the contest site.)
IV. Important Deadlines and Contest Dates
- Submissions must be received via www.youtube.com no later than August 1, 2008.
- Voting will take place from August 2, 2008 to November 1, 2008.
- Winner Announced on January 2, 2009.
V. Prizes
The finalist from each category will receive an award:
- Solo- $1,000
- Ensemble- $1,500
- Drumline- $1,500
- Children- $500
Winner selected from these finalists, and will receive an additional $1,500, plus an additional $1,500 will be donated to Habitat For Humanity in the winner’s name. Be creative and help Sto keep the beat!
Drumming talent alone may not win this contest. “Style points” will be awarded for creativity. Think of interesting ways to compose your performance; involving your staff and/or customers, include a crowd, performing on a job-site, utilize other construction equipment into your ensemble, etc.
You are free to bring in a “ringer” by recruiting the help of your local high school band’s drum corp or the drummer from your favorite local club band or any of the undiscovered talents of your office staff, contractor crews or customers. For inspiration and ideas you may want to go to www.YouTube.com and search the phrase “bucket drummer” and you will see some examples of interesting performances.
VI. Eligibility:
Entry is open to legal residents of the 50 US states (and DC), must be 18 years of age at time of submission, and are registered users of http://www.youtube.com. The participants within the entry can be younger than 18, but the official contestant must be 18 years or older. Employees, officers, directors, and their immediate family members of the contest entity (Sto Corp.), affiliated, and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotion agencies, legal and financial advisors, and any and all other companies associated with this contest are not eligible to enter. Please note: Sto Distributors and their employees (including family members) ARE eligible to compete. For purposes of this contest, “immediate family members” means parents, spouses, children, siblings, in-laws, grandmother, or grandfather. To become a registered user of the YouTube site, you must register for an account and agree to the YouTube site’s “Terms of Use” set forth at http://www.youtube.com/t/terms. There is no fee or charge to become a registered user. Video submissions must also comply with the YouTube site’s “YouTube Community Guidelines” set forth at http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines (“Code of Conduct”) and must not: (i) include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by entrant or used without permission (such as company names, music, photographs, works of art, or images published on or in websites, television, movies, or other media); (ii) use individuals’ names, in whole or in part (including the entrant’s last name) without permission; (iii) refer to public figures; (iv) contain profanity, pornographic, or sexual content, content promoting alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms, or weapons, hateful content of any kind (including racism, sexism, etc.), content that promotes violence or harm to another living creature, or any other offensive, obscene, or inappropriate content; (v) defame, misrepresent, or contain disparaging remarks about other people or companies, including, but not limited to Sponsor; and (vi) contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other identifying elements of any person, living, or dead without permission. Sponsor and/or Administrator, and/or their designated representatives, will review all Video Submissions received during the Video Submission Period and will only post those Video Submissions on the Contest Web Site that conform to these Official Rules and the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct, as determined by the Sponsor and/or Administrator in their sole discretion (“Eligible Video Submissions”). Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules, as determined in Sponsor and/or Administrator’s sole discretion, will be disqualified from the Contest and will not appear on the Contest Web Site. Decisions of the Sponsor and/or Administrator are final and binding. All bucket drumming submissions must follow general safe practice where the harming of individuals or animals is strictly prohibited. Entries must demonstrate safe bucket drumming. By entering this Contest, and to the extent allowed by law, entrants grant Sponsor, YouTube and each of their affiliates, licensees, promotional partners, and third party marketing entities the absolute right and permission to edit, modify, cut, rearrange, add to, delete from, copy, reproduce, translate, dub, adapt, publish, exploit, and use the content of and elements embodied in the Video Submissions, entries, and the entries themselves, in perpetuity in any and all media, including but not limited to digital and electronic media, computer, audio and audiovisual media (whether now existing or hereafter devised), in any language, throughout the world, and in any manner, for trade, advertising, promotional, commercial, or any other purposes without further review, notice, approval, consideration, or compensation. No purchase necessary. Offer void where prohibited by law.
